The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Great little restaurant on St. Pete beach for some delicious Italian food. We appreciated it was across the street from the Bon Aire and little to no wait! We were seated promptly and ordered drinks within a few minutes. Highly recommended the sangria. Garlic toast arrived while we looked over the large menu and placed our orders. Create your own pasta. The vodka sauce was very heavy. Lobster ravioli. Couldn't taste the lobster. Steak. Superb. Caesar salad. Amazing! Create your own pasta. Aglio Olio has too much garlic. Pizza. Perfect!!! Salted caramel cheesecake. Omg yum! Not sure it's worth the $7.20 price point, but delicious! Decent kids menu!! Woman's restroom is gross. They house a vacuum, brooms, and dust pans in the one toilet stall. Plus it smells atrocious.

Great little place on the beach. We ordered shrimp scampi and some bow tie pasta with Alfredo sauce. Both meals were tasty. Our son is picky so he just had some Ziti with butter and parmesan plus some meatballs. They were pretty darn good. This place was recommended by our hotel staff without batting an eyelash when we asked. We could only imagine how the pizza would have been. Yum. They brought out garlic bread, not too fancy but hit the spot.

They have excellent pizza. I have dined at this restaurant many times over the years. I have never had a bad experience or terrible food. Mostly though, we order a pizza to go and take it back to the Bon Aire. Super thin and well done. It's really good with pepperoni and sausage.

This is a small and crowded place where you feel really cramped butting chairs against people and adjacent tables. There is no place to wait inside --- so if you're waiting it has to be outside by the street. I have no idea why it's so busy - the food was fair to poor - the mahi mahi special was ok, but the scampi was bland and the eggplant parmesan just tasted of tomato sauce. The lettuce in the Caesar salad was fibrous. Worst of all - the service was bad - our server didn't come by for long periods, was rude grabbing stuff from us and we saw her also yelling at some hungry souls to move out of the restaurant (no waiting area inside).

When I first got there, I noticed the place wasn't very clean. I have been to restaurants that have not been perfectly clean before and they still had good food. So I decided to go in anyways. The hostess sat me down to a table less than a foot away from another table. I thought to myself, I hope they don't sit anyone next to me. The waitress seemed nice and attentive . She took my order and about a half hour later I received my salad. It was a good salad, except for putting too much salad dressing on it. Then I received my lobster ravioli and cheesy bread. I first tried the bread and it was alright. Then I dipped it into the marinara sauce... sigh.... it wasn't very good. It was bland, and in my opinion didn't taste like marinara sauce. Then I tried my lobster ravioli. The pasta was over cooked and the filling tasted like dog food from a can. the sauce it was drenched in was also bland, like marinara. Then I tried the shrimp and the scallops, that were on each side of the plate, in scallop shells. The shrimp tasted like dish water. Th e scallops weren't bad, it was just a lack of taste again. It is like these people never heard of salt and pepper before. Well, if you take my advice. I would suggest never going to this restaurant ever. This was so disappointing, since I love the Gigi's in Pasadena. They have great sangria.

Food alone would've garnered a "2 star". I ate early, the place was half full. Nevertheless, they insisted on seating people squished together on one half of the room. I got the "elephant in the room" seat, a table for 2 that is BUTT UP to a table for 4 (about 4 inches separate it. Nobody likes sitting that close to another party. It was simply uncomfortable (and talked about within earshot by the two parties of 4 who were there). My meal was ruined by the open-mouthed chewing and comments of pre-teens. Shame on this restaurant for not having good "sense of place". Second The food is overpriced. My $14 spaghetti was bland. The tomato sauce tasted can-like, not the "cooked over an Italian stove for hours with great seasonings" I was expecting. Tinny diced tomatoes only. I ordered sausage--it came tough crusted and dried out--so much so I had to move it to the bread plate to saw at it to bite size pieces. Five slices of garlic bread (cooked separately, all crunch, no soft middle) to entertain arrived. Salads cost extra. (at the price, a small one should've been included). The shiraz was sour, not smooth. Probably last of the bottle and had sat a while. Desserts sounded good but not at $7.50 a pop for the slivers coming out. They must've been making over $100 per cheese cake "pie". Service. Poor. Non-working servers sat at a prime table in front of everyone to "hang". Two hostesses wore sweat pants/leggings. Can we say (well-defined) BUTT CRACK? Who wants to look at that during a meal? THEY should've been embarrassed. One server had remnants of pink hair. It took over 10 minutes for them to come pick up my payment. That's with several standing around doing nothing. This was a $22 disaster from the start.

This should be three and a half stars! This is a smaller place with a red and black theme. And one very nice fish tank. The pace here is deliberate- some what slow. They have sangria and it's ready good. Small pitcher serves four to five glasses. They serve you garlic toast with your meal. There was two items tonite, ravioli and pizza. The ravioli was with Bolognese sauce. You get choice of pasta and sauces. I mixed meat and cheese ravioli, get all cheese with meat ot Bolognese sauce. Too much meat in sauce to taste meat in ravioli. Thin crust pizza is their thing. The dough is spread really thin, crust is almost burnt (very crispy!) They have nice sauce not sweet and has chunks of tomato. Sausage is fresh made. Pepperoni was nice spicy flavor. Even with extra cheese, they can improve on what is on pizza

I don't know what to say.... hit or miss.... sometimes the pizza is spot on and other times so soggy it is like dough is not cooked all the way. Other foods are just OK and we will leave it at that. Management and service is great! Location, convenient. Prices fair. I judt wish the pizza crust was cooked longer...

A standard on St Pete Beach . . . they've been there for a long time and the reason is obvious - good food and good service + they have pitchers of sangria. It is a tad pricey, but the portions are large. The calamari is great, the cheesy garlic bread - oh ya . . . so many options with the entrees and my favorite sauce choice is the creamy onion. They have a kids menu too. Enjoy!

We got in at 530p on Memorial Day for a pizza dinner. Easy access parking next to the restaurant. There was a terrible body oder as we walked in the front door it carried a harsh sulfer scent. It was nvery busy, there was one other group in the restaurant. Attire was casual, shorts, t-shirts and sandals. No music, kinda dull. They pushed all the seafood specials, we just wanted a good Italian pizza. We ordered the garlic cheese bread with red sauce for an appetizer and a thick crust pepperoni and sausage with mushrooms pizza. The waitress seemed surprised we wanted thick crust (which was essentially thin compared to most pizza places). I think their specialty was thin crust. Service was prompt, food was timely, waitress checked back with us often and filled drinks. I'll search for another Italian place on the Gulf Dr. strip.

We were hesitant to go based on the most recent reviews talking about body odor. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it must've been those reviewers smelling themselves because it smelled fantastic! The food was wonderful. The atmosphere was comfortable. The service (Cynthia, we're looking at you) was outstanding. Will definitely go back!

This place was borderline three stars for me but I decided to be nice and go with four for the time being. What has me on the fence is basically the value. Their food is "pretty good"; i.e. I would not go so far as to call it great, but definitely good enough to keep coming back, so that in my mind is what I refer to as a pretty good meal. The real issue is the food combined with the price; I feel like their prices are just slightly above what the food delivers. In any case; my wife and I have a place in St Pete Beach so when we're wanting some decent Italian food, we come here. The caprese salad is great; I posted a picture of it. Typically one of us always gets the chicken parm; it's pretty decent and we split it. The other will get something at random. I've found that their 'pompeii' preparation on chicken and veal is pretty great. Blackened prep on salmon is as well. Their Marsala sauce; so so. The other preps I could take or leave. Their pizzas are great, but pricey. They have early bird from 4pm to 6pm; definitely don't overlook that, it's a much better value, but limited menu. If the entrees were perhaps a couple dollars cheaper, I'd consider things priced just right for what you get. I don't think you'll be disappointed regardless though; if you're on the beach and want Italian, don't pass this place up.

Bomb on the beach! Don't let the outside fool you, inside is cramped and dated almost as much as the menu. Two out of three ill after meal. Seated by waitress who clearly did not want to be there. Ordered cheesesticks, which came in reasonable time. I think they got them from Public, sauce was really sour. Then overcook sliced french bread came. Then drinks we ordered before cheesesticks came. Pizza was OK really was saved by good sausage and pepporoni. Spaghetti was overcooked and under drained which turned sauce into soup. The half ladle of meatball sauce was sour and had one meatball. I was hungry so I put a bunch of parm cheese and ate a third before giving up. My wife had stuffed shells. You could see they were freezer burned little sauce and had no flavor. Not sure how anyone can say they had a good experience here unless they only got pizza or consider golden corral fine dining!

I can't believe this place isn't rated higher. We just ordered a Margarita pizza for take out. We were treated like royalty by a bald gentleman that I assume is the owner or manager. He even offered the kids some bubblegum from a basket and gave plates, napkins and fresh parm cheese. This guy treated us like we spent $150 bucks in the place. The restaurant smelled amazing, and had a great Italian atmosphere. Definitely earned our business, and this place was a whole lot better than the other pizza place nearby.

If you see a 5 star, it's clearly come from a staff member. This is one restaurant to avoid. Don't let the appearance of it being busy fool you as its in a high tourist traffic area. Staff members proving 'inaccurate information' and when this is pointed out to them they try to unsuccessfully backtrack. Order was wrong, would you really give someone who asked for gluten free pasta - gluten pasta? Taste of the pasta dishes can only be described as buffet or airport style food at best.

We've been coming to St. Pete for 30 years. Gi Gi's has been here as long as I can remember. We usually enjoy ourselves. This year we were met by a very stinky smell when we came in the door. The sangria and wine were good. The rolls yummy. But the side salad was pretty basic bag lettuce. All white and limp. The dressing was very watered down. Our pizza came out piping hot. So hot it was difficult to eat. It didn't have time to rest and everything just dropped right off the fork. The waitress had been good up till that point. We sat for a very very long time after we were done eating before she came over to check on us. Skip this place. There's better pizza and service somewhere else on the beach.

Once again, I come across a restaurant where I wish I could give half or even quarter-stars. I would have given this place 3.5, but since my wife and I loved it so much, I will go with four... Anyway, I was frankly surprised to see how low the rating was on this place - shocked really. I did notice that most of the poor reviews are old (literally years ago), but it all counts in the end. Our experience was nothing short of great. It's got a great location on the one of the corners of what appears to be the main drag in St. Pete Beach. From the street, the place looks so beautiful, enticing. It's the sole reason we decided to give it a shot. Inside, the ambiance is romantic, rustic, and very, very cozy - homey. As far as the food was concerned - I have no complaints. My wife had a personal pizza, which she loved, and I had the their early-bird special chicken - cooked very well with fully steamed broccoli - just the way I like it. The service was very good and the waitress was very friendly. Dessert-wise - my wife had their chocolate cake (which was death by chocolate, really), and I had the tiramisu - very good - it wasn't dry like others I have had. Overall, it was a great little find at a beach we plan on visiting again soon.

Gigi's is a classic Italian restaurant with several locations in St. Petersburg. The Gulf Blvd location can be crowded at times, but it is worth the wait. Each time we visit St. Petersburg, a stop at Gigi's is required. They have a full menu of flavorful foods. Portions are large and very tasty.

Ate there for dinner last Friday night an was so very sick afterwards. My wife an I had the same appatizer, salad but she had the baked ziti, I had the lasagna. About 3 hours later it was apparent that I was sick. No details, but suffice to say I was drinking water and barely able to hold down crackers and ginger ale on Saturday. First time there and last time there for me. Too bad because I wanted to like it but definitely food poisoning.

We ate here last night. They were quite busy. I overheard a man at the hostess stand tell a girl they weren't prepared for this crowd. We were seated outside on the patio right away. The waitress took a while to take our drink orders. Other waitresses were on the patio serving as well. I heard them tell their guest about the nights specials and they brought bread with their salads. Our waitress did not mention any specials and she didn't bring the bread with my salad. The pizza we ordered was good, but overall experience wasn't good. Busy or not, all customers should be treated the same.

Three of us were there on April 3rd, probably one of their busiest days. It is a family restaurant so as you might suspect there was some noise. No problem. We split an antipasto salad that was very good. I ordered pasta with tomato sauce with Italian sausage. The sausage was hard from being reheated too many times. My wife's ravioli was over baked and burned on the edges. My daughter's meal was fine. Our waitress was not very friendly. The waitress bussing the table next to us sprayed my wife with cleaner. No apologies.

We opted to try Gigi's as 2 of the 3 of us had never been there and it always seems busy. They were very busy (when we called ahead, we were told we didn't need a reservation) but seated in less than 10 minutes. Our server was quick to take our appetizer and drink orders and the apps/salads were served expediently. The garlic cheese bread was, by far, my favorite part of the night. The crusty bread held up well to the thick layer of cheese and a balanced amount of garlic and butter. Our salads (wedge and Caesar) were unremarkable and served at room temperature making the lettuce a bit in appealing. A cold plate and cold lettuce would have made a world of difference. The entrees fell a bit flat for us. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was the winner for the night and came as a gigantic helping. The chicken piccata made me sad--one piece of chicken was burned and tough and the other two pieces were a bit mushy for lack of a better word. It was served with a good number of capers but the flavor profile was non-existent and seemed oily. The final entree, veal Parmesan, came out chewy. The highlight for the entree was the red sauce. Overall, I wouldn't plan to return unless it was to sample their pizza--to go pizzas were going out the door quite regularly.

Stopped here with my wife on the way home. It was late and we were hungry. We love pizza and we ordered a 13 inch pie with extra toppings and very little cheese. Service was real slow and we were thinking of leaving. I can easily forgive slow service if the food is good. Pizza had so much cheese it had to be pulled apart and the crust was like stale cardboard. It was late and we were hungry so we ate a little and left the rest there. The chef would do better in construction. The more mortar you put between the bricks the better they stick together.

I was not expecting a wow experience walking into Gigi's, specially after reading the " not so flattering " reviews. But when you are hungry and and Gigi's is the first place to pass by, you just pull over. We ordered the thin crust margarita pizza, it was not a pizza I will write home about ( but rather write on Yelp about). So let's say, I had worst. Will I go back? Most likely not.

We ordered a medium Gigi's Special pizza and side of black olives from Treasure Island location not realizing that they are remodeling and the pizza was coming from St. Pete Beach. The total was $28.25!! I said to the driver it better be good pizza for that price. Unfortunately, it was horrible! The edges were so burnt they were inedible and the underneath was black. The crazy part was the center was not even cooked. We tried to call back and tell them to come back and get this sad imitation of a pizza but since it was after 10pm nobody answered. Since it was so late and we were starving we ate what we could but no way would we be eating the leftovers. I took the rest of the pizza back to the TI location where I was rudely told by an older lady with blond hair that it was not made there and I needed to go to St. Pete Beach. She also tried to tell me that if I hadn't ordered so many toppings that it wouldn't be soggy - umm, lady, it is your "special" pizza. Anyway, after a phone call to SPB location, the guy told me to come there to get my money back.I drove all the way down there and he didn't even bother to come out of the kitchen. Funny considering there is a sign at the front door about how important service is. I guess not. All I got was $23 back. That means we paid $5 for a side of black olives. Bad pizza, bad service, and way too expensive. Never again.

Clearly, pasta is from a box, sauce is from a jar. Pizza was edible- that's about the only thing I can say about it. FaZolis is better and a fraction of the cost. Price was WAY too high!!! Service was ok. If you have no other choice and you want below average Italian food, this is for you.

Been a fan of their thin crust pizza for 40 years. And those little pepperonis. Mmmmm, mmmm. Never found those anywhere else. When you are tired of fish, Gigi's serves up solid Italian food and great pizzas.

Tomatoes in caprese were firm and not ripe. Alfredo sauce on dinner special was cold and very thick. Had the pasta combo for those that can not make up their mind. Stuffed shells average. Marina nothing to write home about. Wine list average. Beer and wine only. Typical affordable Italian menu. Nothing that stands out. Serves Pizza. Service was slow and inattentive. Had a city best rating but it had to be long ago or St Pete is not the place to go Italian dining.

Can i give negative stars?!?!? The WORST food i ever had. You're seriously better off getting a can of spaghetti O's. It started with rancid shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were grey, and refrigerated then left at room temperature for a texture and smell i cannot even explain. Horrendous. It finished with fettucini alfredo for me. I make this at home, it has THREE ingredients, i don't know HOW to mess it up, but they did. It was bland, and i'm pretty sure it was just half and half dumpped on my linguini. I dumpped a pile of salt and parm on it, and it still tasted like nothing. My husband had cheese ravioli. The red sauce was jarred- thank god- because it was at least edible. They DID NOT put any salt in the pasta water so the cheese in the ravs had no flavor. I have never been so mad to waste a meal in my life. I do not know how this place has been open for so many years. I'm not being picky this was just disgusting!

over-priced nonsense! I got the Pasta Combo... lasagna, stuffed shell, eggplant parmigiana, and a meatball... $over.priced) The one saving grace was the garlic bread, it was out-effin'-standing. The meal was above average, but definitely NOT worth the price I paid for it. It should've been about $10.00-$12.00

Went there with a party of six. Four adaults two kids. Have to wait outside near the street. Make sure to go at dark or just before dark. Otherwise, you will be sweating your fanny off. The chicken Parmisan was very good. The meatballs were spongy and lacked flavor. The sausage was flavorless as well. The pizza was good and had a thin crunchy crust. The salads were large and fresh. This place was just OK in my opinion. They could use some better ingredients but my guess is if they did their prices would be higher and less people would go. For the money, this place was good. We took a doggie bag home and I ate cold pizza the following morning for breakfast.

Don't go there for Italian. It is fair as a pizza place but they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to Italian. I had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken because the manager explained to another customer that if it wasn't on the menu they would not make it. It was bland and tasteless which is embarrassing as it is the easiest thing to make. All I wanted was a simple carbonara but it was not on the menu. What a joke. The wait staff was nice but it just couldn't make up for the poor food. Very very overpriced by even high end standards. So again just do not go there.

The place is small, but the pizza is really good. Heather O and I shared a large half pepperoni/ground beef (Me) and half pineapple/green peppers (Her) the other night. The crust was perfect and the toppings were as advertised. Service could have been a little quicker but they were handling at least three groups of 8 or more the night we were there and I didn't notice much of a delay. I'd recommend calling ahead if you have a larger group. There is no waiting area inside so most people waiting are sitting outside on the patio. They also have a huge fish tank in the middle of the restaurant that the kiddies are obligated to be in awe of, so watch out for a few roaming youngsters here and there. Price was about normal (30 bucks) for a large pizza and a couple of adult beverages. We'll be back.

pretty good Italian food experience... being picky New Yorkers, we weren't sure how tasty our meals were going to be. I had the shrimp St. Tropez and he had veal parmigiana. Both were surprisingly delicious, mine being a bit garlicky - not a complaint, just a note to those who don't like the herb as much as I do. Waitress was on point even during a busy time, Friday night around 8 pm. The cheesy garlic bread was amazing. The bruschetta was so-so, more like thin salsa in a dish than the freshly-chopped tomatoes and onions we are used to. Two apps, two entrees, 4-5 alcoholic beverages between us and sodas came to about $80. We probably will avoid St. Pete Beach entirely in the future, but we were happy to have had a decent meal while we were there.

We ordered thin crust pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and olives to take back to our hotel. Pizza was good, the mushrooms could have been fresher.

Yes, it's small and is kind of crowded, but it's a nice break from seafood! We had pasta dishes and salads and liked what we had! I'd recommend it unless you have a large group, although they can accommodate it.
